About Denise Cousineau

Painting has always been my way of seeing the world more deeply. Whether I am standing before a mountain lake, studying the geometry of an old building, or capturing the quiet dignity of a face, I am drawn to the light — the way it transforms the ordinary into something luminous.

My work spans landscapes, architectural subjects, portraits, and still life. Each series is an exploration of a different kind of attention: the expansiveness of nature, the memory embedded in structures, the inner life visible in a person's expression, the beauty of everyday objects at rest.

I work primarily in watercolor and drawing, mediums that reward patience and reward observation. I also teach, because sharing the practice of seeing is as important to me as the paintings themselves.

Denise Cousineau is a Canadian fine art painter based in Ontario. She has been painting professionally for over two decades, exhibiting her work in galleries across Canada and teaching watercolor and drawing to students of all levels.

Her paintings are held in private collections throughout North America and Europe. She accepts commissions and welcomes inquiries from collectors and interior designers.
